Montage resorts8/13/2023 In fact, I can't think of many other hotels with such a low collective Yelp rating. It's rare for an (ostensibly) five-star hotel to receive an average rating of only 3.5 stars. I should have checked Yelp before booking our stay at the Montage Healdsburg. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our experience and cannot wait to return to the Montage Healdsburg or to visit a different Montage.… The drinks and service from Hudson's Springs was perfect, only wish the weather allowed us to enjoy it a bit more! One final highlight of our trip, Ginny (who works in Guest Relations), was an absolute gem and brightened our day each time we ran into her on the property. There was a small patch of sun so we also managed to sit by the pool and enjoy the hottub for a while. We enjoyed massages on Saturday and both had great experiences. We were also very impressed with Sarah, a dining staff member who is usually at the Montage in Deer Valley, and had the pleasure of being helped by her and chatting with her during all three of our meals at Hazel Hill. The wine pairing showcased amazing Sonoma wines which we really appreciated, as another restaurant we went to in Healdsburg was heavy on European wines which we found odd. The tasting menu with the wine pairing for dinner was incredible. We enjoyed two breakfasts and one dinner there. Definitely recommend dining at Hazel Hill. It was brought out for us promptly when requested. We did consider a car service instead of a rental from the airport, but ultimately rented a car and drove and were happy to valet it for our stay. I appreciated not having vehicles spread throughout the property, and did see a notice about the $40 charge marked clearly on our booking. I've seen complaints about the valet for vehicles. Once again, minimal to zero wait time each time we wanted to go or return. We used the Escalade shuttle service to and from Healdsburg a couple of times. He greeted us by name whenever we saw him as though we had met him numerous times before. They had an incredible team ready and waiting to shuttle us. We did not experience any waits for rides to our room from the main building either. When we did request a golf cart pick up, someone was at our room waiting to drive us before we were even out the door. We chose to walk any time my shoes allowed it so we could enjoy the property. Even being one of the further rooms, I would estimate the walk between our room and the main building to be only five minutes. As it was our anniversary we requested to stay a little further away from the main buildings and were accommodated perfectly. The property is stunning as was our room. We stayed Thursday - Sunday in early May, unfortunately a rainy weekend, but still lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed each stop and appreciate the thought that went into the planning. Our communications with the concierge team were always answered promptly and Andrea booked a fabulous day of wine tasting based on our preferences with John from Cuvee Wine Tours as our guide. We booked about a month before our visit, and not having been in the Sonoma region before, contacted the concierge to help plan our stay. This was our first experience at a Montage hotel, and definitely will not be the last.
